Since 2002 Mark has been involved in research into the distribution and ecology of the Bedstraw Hawk-moth in England. This spectacular species is established in parts of Eastern England but remains very rare, occurring in warm habitats with dry soils and presence of the caterpillar’s foodplants, Bedstraw and Rosebay Willowherb. A paper on the ecology and history of this species in the UK is in preparation.
